Creating a PDF

Creating a PDF Doc - V 14-20

Make sure you drawing grid size is the same as your output size and everything fits on the grid.  
  1. Go to File > Print.
  2. Selected the Drafix PDF Writer
  3. Make sure that under VIEW TO PRINT it says Page View
  4. Make sure that under SIZING METHOD it say Scaled

  5. Click Preview button
  6. Click on Page Setup at top of window.

  7. In the SIZE tab your page size should appear. Do not change anything here.

  8. Select PRINTER PAGE tab NOT the button. (The PRINTER PAGE option should never be selected here)
  9. In the drop-down box under PAPER SIZE, select your paper size. Note that the grayed out boxes below should have the paper size. If it says 8.5"x11", re-select your paper size from the drop-down list. At times you may need to change paper orientation from Landscape to Portrait.

  10. Click OK and Click PRINT in the upper corner of the preview screen.  This will take you back to the Print window.

  11. Click OK.

  12. In a few seconds you will get a window asking you to save as a PDF.

  13. Type your file name and note where you are saving it on your computer.
  14. Open the PDF file which was created.
  15. Mouse over the lower left corner of the document and you should see a popup with the page size.  If the size is correct and everything fits on one page then you are done.
You can also make the file open automatically after saving by going to WINDOWS START >> PROGRAMS >> Drafix PDF Writer  >> Preferences >> Check VIEW PDF AFTER SAVING.  Next time you save a PDF file, the file will open immediately.
